At Harrell & Beverly, we believe every driver deserves transparency, respect, and high-quality service. Whether you're dealing with a complex transmission issue or just trying to stay on top of routine maintenance, your repair experience shouldn't feel like a guessing game.
What You Should Always Feel Comfortable Asking Your Mechanic

✔️ What’s wrong with my vehicle, and how did you determine that?
You deserve a clear explanation of the issue and the diagnostic steps taken. A reputable shop will take the time to walk you through the process.
✔️ Can I see photos or videos of the issue?
Visual proof builds trust and helps you understand what’s happening. We use digital inspections to show you exactly what we’re seeing.
✔️ What parts are being used, and why did you choose them?
Not all parts are created equal. Ask whether your shop is using OEM, aftermarket, remanufactured, or junkyard parts—and how that affects quality, cost, and longevity.
✔️ Any other questions!
There are no dumb questions. A reputable auto repair shop will have service advisors and technicians that are willing to take the time to answer whatever questions you may have about your repair.
If a shop can’t provide clear answers, visual documentation, or explain their parts and process confidently, that’s a red flag. You deserve transparency. If you're not getting it, go somewhere that values your trust—like Harrell & Beverly.
A Real-World Reminder
Recently, a customer came to us after their 4WD system stopped working, again. They had already had repairs done at another shop but felt something wasn’t right. That instinct led them to us, and we’re glad it did.
Our inspection revealed a number of problems:
A junkyard transfer case had been installed, likely without proper testing
Transmission fluid was leaking into a key electrical connector
We found missing fuse box components, and the customer had previously resorted to jumping fuses just to get the A/C working
Several electrical faults and codes were present, including issues with the range actuator and sensor circuits
This wasn’t just a matter of a repair gone wrong, it was a clear example of how shortcuts can lead to bigger, more expensive, and potentially dangerous problems down the line.
DIY Fixes and “Budget” Repairs Can Cost More in the Long Run
We understand that vehicle repairs are often unexpected and costly. But using the wrong parts or skipping diagnostic steps can actually make things worse. A “quick save” might seem like a good idea in the moment, but it can become a major budget buster AND worse, a safety risk.
You Deserve a Better Auto Repair Shop
At Harrell & Beverly, we take the time to do it right. We show you what we find, explain what it means, and help you make informed decisions. Whether it’s a photo of a worn part or a video walkthrough from under the hood, we want you to feel confident in every step we take. Your safety and trust will always matter more to us than rushing a repair or guessing at the problem.
