Frequently Asked Questions
At Harrell & Beverly Transmissions & Auto Repair in Sanford, Florida, we work hard to answer your most common questions about servicing your vehicle, our process, and what you can expect when you visit.
Browse the topics below and feel free to contact us if you don’t see your question listed. We’re always happy to help.
Which areas do you serve in Central Florida?
We proudly serve customers in Sanford, Lake Mary, DeBary, Deltona, Longwood, Winter Springs, and surrounding areas. Our convenient location and reputation for honest, expert service draw customers from across the region.
What kinds of vehicles do you repair?
We service most domestic and Asian vehicles, model year 2000 and newer—including Ford, Honda, Toyota, Jeep, Nissan, Chevrolet, and more. We specialize in both general repairs and complex diagnostics, especially for transmissions and drivetrains.
Makes we work on: Acura, Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet, Chrysler, Dodge, Ford, GMC, Honda, Hummer, Hyundai, Infiniti, Isuzu, Jeep, Kia, Lexus, Mazda, Mitsubishi, Mercury, Nissan, Ram, Scion, Subaru, Suzuki, Toyota.
We do not provide service for classic and antique cars.
Do you rebuild transmissions in-house?
Transmissions are our specialty, and we’ve rebuilt many over the years. But with today’s advanced, computer-driven vehicles, rebuilding in-house is not the most reliable or cost-effective option.
We’ll recommend the right product for your vehicle and present you with the best options. In many cases, that includes a JASPER® (https://www.harrellandbeverly.com/jasper)remanufactured transmission or engine—known for its quality, durability, and up to 3-year/100,000-mile nationwide parts and labor warranty.
Our goal is to help you avoid repeat issues and get your vehicle back on the road with confidence.
Do you perform state emissions testing?
Harrell & Beverly does not provide state emissions testing. We recommend finding an appropriate shop in the state where you are looking to have your vehicle recertified for this type of service.
However, we do provide testing and repairs for emissions systems.
How do you handle vehicles with high mileage or older models (15 years and older)?
We understand that every vehicle, and every budget, is different. For older or high-mileage vehicles, we prioritize safety and reliability while helping you make informed decisions based on your car’s stage of life and your long-term goals. We will give our honest opinion on when a vehicle is worth investing in or if it's at it's end of life.
What kind of parts do you use for repairs: OEM, aftermarket, remanufactured?
We source parts based on quality, fitment, availability, and manufacturer specifications. When possible, we use OEM or OE-equivalent parts. We also work with trusted brands for remanufactured and aftermarket components and always back our work with a warranty.
What should I do if I need roadside assistance or towing to your shop?
If your vehicle breaks down or needs towing, let the tow truck driver know to bring it to Harrell & Beverly in Sanford. Call us to give a heads-up and leave the key in our drop box if it’s after hours. We’ll follow up when your vehicle arrives.
We recommend Athens Towing.(https://share.google/9TAk6kx6ODYaLnzHq) They provide 24 hour towing, recovery, and emergency road service. Their phone number is 407-321-2948.
