As spring blooms in Sanford, we’re thrilled to announce our support for a cherished local tradition—the 2025 Sanford Historic Garden Tour! On April 5, 2025, Harrell & Beverly Transmissions & Auto Repair will serve as a Garden Sponsor for this year’s event, hosted by the Sanford Cultural Guild.

While we’re known for keeping vehicles running smoothly, we also believe in nurturing the community that drives us. That’s why we’re proud to support projects that preserve Sanford’s beauty, celebrate our local history, and bring neighbors together.

Why We’re a Garden Sponsor
At Harrell & Beverly, community support is at the heart of what we do. Just like a well-maintained vehicle, a well-cared-for city thrives when all its parts work together. That’s why we’re excited to contribute to the Sanford Cultural Guild’s ongoing efforts to enhance our city’s green spaces and foster community engagement.
Sanford Botanical Garden: A Vision in Bloom
A key initiative funded by the Garden Tour is the Sanford Botanical Garden, a future space designed to bring together nature, history, and the arts.
What’s in the works?
Themed Garden Areas – Enclosed by shrubs and hedged walls, these areas will showcase roses, Florida native plants, citrus, vegetables, tropicals, and butterfly-friendly gardens.
A Tribute to Sanford’s Agricultural History – The garden will honor Sanford’s agricultural roots, including a space recognizing Henry Shelton Sanford.
Pathways & Gathering Spaces – Designed to be both educational and enjoyable, this garden will be a place for learning, relaxation, and community connection.
Historic Hopper Academy Community Garden: Growing More Than Just Plants
Another initiative supported by the Garden Tour is the Historic Hopper Academy Community Garden, which will bring fresh produce and new opportunities to the Georgetown neighborhood.
Why does a community garden matter?
Neighborhood Beautification – A vibrant garden enhances the area and encourages outdoor activity.
Educational Opportunities – Local elementary schools can use the space for hands-on learning about gardening and sustainability.
Food Security & Fresh Produce – The garden will help increase access to fresh foods, benefiting residents in the community.
Wellness & Connection – Gardening isn’t just about plants—it’s about mental health, relaxation, and bringing people together.
By supporting these initiatives, we’re investing in a greener, healthier Sanford—one where neighbors can connect, kids can learn, and natural beauty thrives.
