When we opened our family business in 1959, vehicles required regular “tune-ups” which was a process of cleaning and adjusting components to bring them back to their original condition, for example:

• Setting points and engine timing
• Adjusting valves
• Adjusting carburetor and ignition
• Adjusting engine mechanical components
• Inspecting/adjusting idle speed and choke rods

Modern day vehicles don't need the “tune-up” of yesterday. Instead, they require routine maintenance - which is a process of inspection and replacement.
