Spring is here and summer is right around the corner and that means road trips – the time when memories are made. Remember it’s not so much the destination as much as it is the journey. So load up your MP3 players with some Ray Charles and “Hit The Road, Jack!”
But before you head out make sure you get your vehicle in order. Unless you want to end up like Clark Griswold on your way to Wally World, a little prep work will make your vehicle ready for whatever your road trip throws at you.
Planning for a road trip is fun, like planning for which roller coaster to ride first, which restaurants to dine at or which hotels offer the best amenities. However, there is one item that often gets overlooked and that is making sure your vehicle is prepared to hit the road. Remember it will be carrying your most precious cargo – your family.
Murphy’s Law tends to strike at all the wrongs times; like when you are stuck in the middle of Nowhere, USA with no exit in sight while the rain is pouring down. That’s why I recommend getting your vehicle preparations done at least two weeks before you travel. You pick the time to down your vehicle for service and repair rather than your vehicle picking the time.
